Soul Food Classics | Algerian Workshop

  • Soul Food Sisters 202 Gallowgate Glasgow, Scotland, G1 5DS United Kingdom (map)

Just in time for the incoming winter months, we are bringing back our highly popular cooking workshops! This time we are focusing on our classics, with each workshop based on a cuisine famous for it’s soul food. For the first we will be exploring Algerian cuisine and teaching you how to make cous cous by hand. It may look difficult at the beginning, but once you’ve got started you’ll pick it up quickly and then can show off your skills to friends!

Accompanying the cous cous will be a lamb stew and a number of vegetable stews made with courgettes, chickpeas and green beans. To finish the meal off we will be providing traditional tea and baklava as well as an introduction to Algerian culture through traditional costumes and music.

As always, the evening will consist of a hands-on workshop learning how to make the dishes, followed by a relaxed sit down meal were you can enjoy the results of your work and each other's company. We believe that food has the power to bring people together and we hope that these evenings will teach you new culinary skills whilst also allowing you to create new connections.

Spaces are limited and tickets are £15. Tickets are available here.
